“God has given gifts to each of you from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Manage them well so that God’s generosity can flow through you.” 1 Peter 4:10 (NLT)
Epiphany falls on the thirteenth day after Christmas. This coming Wednesday, January 6, is the day of Epiphany. On this holiday, we remember the wise men, who brought gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to the young Jesus. In 1 Peter 4:10 (see verse above), Peter reveals that each of us has our own God-given gifts to bring to the King.
- If you have the gift of HOSPITALITY, you may want to help with meals at our church, Community Meals or Sunday Suppers.
- If you have the gift of TEACHING, you may want to teach Sunday School class, or a bible study.
- If you are blessed with the ability to GIVE graciously, you may want to join the Outreach Committee.
- If you have the gift of MERCY, visit a shut-in or volunteer with a local mission.
As this new year begins and we celebrate Epiphany, consider how you can bring your gifts as an offering to the King, allowing God’s generosity to flow through you to others. During 2016, you will be seeing various ways you can use your gifts. Keep your hearts open and prayerfully consider new ways you can serve Christ.
