Educational Hour- Sunday at 10:00 AM
Four Sunday school classes are offered for children 6th grade and below during our 10:00 AM education hour from Mid-September through Pentecost. All classes focus on gathering children around the bible for instruction and formation.
2-3 year olds meet with loving teachers in the nursery for age appropriate and engaging lessons.
Pre-K will meet in Scripture Tent (upper level across from the Nursery).
1st and 2nd graders meet in Creation Station (located on the lower level, across from the youth room) with loving teachers for dynamic and formative lessons.
3rd-6th graders meet in the Youth Room (located on the lower level) for lively and thought-provoking Bible lessons with loving teachers using Connect curriculum created just for preteens.
Children’s Church, now called WORSHIP EXPLORERS!
- Exploring the five movements of worship
- Exploring and observing the sacraments
- Learning the Lord’s prayer and doxology
- Hearing church music and learning a few hymns
- Exploring the seasons of the church year
The children of CHCPC are actively involved in two service activities. A local project involves collecting food for the Food Bank. A second project is the international Heifer Project, in which children raise money for families in a third world country to buy farm animals for help in their subsistence living.
Nursery and Childcare
Child Care for infants through age four children is provided each Sunday, beginning at 8:45 a.m. and ending at noon. The nursery is staffed by the same two people every week, thereby providing consistent and friendly care. Pagers are available so parents may have peace of mind while attending the worship service or an adult education class.
Sunday School is provided for all toddler-aged children in the nursery during the 10:00 hour.
