Children's ministries

Sunday School at 9:00 AM

During the school year, Sunday School is held for Preschool-5th graders at 9 a.m. in the classroom across from the nursery. It's every Sunday unless otherwise announced. We use the Growing in Grace and Gratitude curriculum, which is rooted in the foundation of Presbyterian identity where God’s grace and our gratitude are the heartbeat of our faith, life, and worship. The classes inspire children to learn and practice hospitality, generosity, and love; and reach beyond Sunday morning, encouraging children to live their lives as an expression of God’s grace.

Child Care for infants through age four is provided each Sunday, beginning at 9:45 a.m. on the Sundays there is Sunday School and goes until services are concluded. Pagers are available so parents may have peace of mind while attending the worship service.

Every December the children and youth lead a service, including a play telling the Christmas story.

Worship Explorers

On Sundays during the school year, children Preschool-4th grade are invited to join staff following the children’s message during the service. The children will be out of worship only during the sermon each week. The curriculum we use is called “Gateways to Worship”. It is a program of worship activities designed to help children grow as worshipers and to equip them to participate in worship. The goals are (1) to offer children an opportunity to worship God in their own way and (2) to introduce children to worship in the sanctuary by doing the following: • Exploring the five movements of worship • Exploring and observing the sacraments • Learning the Lord’s prayer and doxology • Hearing church music and learning a few hymns • Exploring the seasons of the church year

Wednesday Nights @ Cedar Heights

Wednesday Nights during the school year we meet for a meal at 6 p.m. in Fellowship Hall and then do a lesson with children from 6:30-7:30. We use the curriculum, Follow Me.
